Our pillows come in varying sizes.
They have a knife-edge, are double-sided, with a concealed zipper and a decorative, silk, hand-stitched zip pull detail.
They come with hypo-allergenic, synthetic down inserts.
We had a lot of fun making these, here is the story and the background. We hope you will have as much fun, decorating with them!
THE PILLOW STORY
At seemakrish, we are committed to sustainable practices. The pillow story aligns with our mission and values
Environment. We often have left over fabric: end bits from shipments or leftovers from our production process. We wanted to find a way to up-cycle this waste. We often have requests for pillows, so came up with this happy solution.
Cultural Preservation. Our brand is about working with traditional craft and providing a new vocabulary. We honor our craftspeople and the time and expertise they put into the making of our textiles, which are hand printed or embroidered by hand, often in combination. We are mindful of the many hours and energies that goes into the making process and feel it’s important to use every square yard of the textile. And so the up-cycling solution!
Empowerment. Each pillow has a hand stitched zipper pull detail. After all it’s the details that define luxury! We tapped the women at MITU Foundation to create these. We have an ongoing partnership with MITU. They have been making our memo samples, since 2015. The income they generate through these projects, helps fund their mission towards empowerment and income generation for under-privileged women in India.
